Code Overview

The State of Minnesota adopted its new Commercial Energy Code to begin 2024 It’s based on ASHRAE 90.1 v2019, and we expect it to be effective until 2030. Here are a few noteworthy changes:

Receptacle Controls

Plug load/Receptacle Controls, which are a requirement of the ASHRAE 90.1 code are exempted from the MN 2024 Energy Code.

Daylight zones are calculated di erently than they are in IECC and in ASHRAE 90.1 v2019 they require both Primary and Secondary daylighting zones.
